In 2013, I co-curated Out of the Box: The Rise of Sneaker Culture at the Bata Shoe Museum. The exhibition explored how sneakers moved beyond sport to become part of fashion, music, design, and everyday life.
My contribution
I brought a collector’s and community perspective to the exhibition. Pieces from my own collection were included, helping tell the stories behind the shoes and the people who gave them meaning.
Putting sneaker culture in a museum created an opportunity for more people to study, share, and experience those stories.
